People have created all evil in the world, and as people- it’s our job to undo the damage. Pollution, overpopulation, global warming, endangered species are all products of our ignorance. To solve all these problems efficiently, you must trace back to the source of the issue, which is lack of education. There is no overnight panacea, but if everyone contributed a small bit to this growing issue, we would have a revolution. Every human has a curious nature, and it’s the duty of the privileged to nourish the knowledge of the unfortunate. This is not at all a missionary’s job, and you do not have to be “wealthy” to be privileged. Some of the dullest people are wealthy Americans. The ignorant, produce with other ignorant to create ignorant babies, starting a cycle of ignorance! If we could educate these children to allow them to obtain the information to think for themselves, we would do a great justice. Everyone should know that this is not “our” world, we just live in it. Global warming is real. If we consume less, less is wasted. Our actions do make a difference, and we control whether that is positive or negative. What we do, will determine what kind of place our children will be subjected to live in. Life is beautiful, and all life should be respected. If everybody in the world held these few truths in mind, think of how wonderful this planet would be.
I realize I’m a spec in the sea of things, but I believe all the goodness I strive to do will take a domino effect across the universe. I talk to everyone who will listen, but ironically, that only consists of the people who share my same ideals. I will live with the environment in my best interest and hope that my actions will seep into others. If I could impact just one person’s way of thinking, or change their ways of destructive living, than I’d feel hope for the future of our planet.
